Dickstein Shapiro Summer Associates have three significant ways to “live” the associate experience.
First,
our Summer Associates select assignments from a database that contains a mix of work from each of our practice groups and offices. Summer Associates typically work on the same types of matters as first year associates, and receive extensive feedback from partners and associates involved in each assignment.
Second,
we have attorneys dedicated to identifying the practical experiences throughout the Firm (depositions, court appearances, closings, expert witness preparations, conference calls, etc.) and offering these experiences to our Summer Associates throughout the summer. We strive to tie these experiences to an assignment so that the Summer Associates’ understanding of the activity is enhanced.
Finally,
through our numerous and diverse pro bono opportunities, Summer Associates gain hands-on lawyering experience. If they choose to participate in one of our pro bono opportunities, they may find themselves handling much of the matter themselves, with supervisory oversight from a Dickstein Shapiro attorney.
